The foundation of Meneghetti philosophy is the quality of life in harmony with the nature that surrounds us and influences us. We approach winemaking with love and knowledge - just like everything we do, actually.

Grapevine, with its fruits and their liquid core, is the symbol of the Istrian soil - the terroir of unique diversity. Leaned on the tradition, we apply new knowledge and constantly develop, being open-minded to contemporary technologies. This way we produce wines that reflect the uniqueness of Istria, at the same time crossing the boundaries with its character and quality. Along with the autochthonous sorts, we are cultivating international varieties that get special characteristics, affected by the local terroir, the unique soil and the environment full of Mediterranean vegetation. Therefore, in order to provide the optimal terrain for growing our sorts, we planted our vineyards in two locations.

The "Red Land” (Terre Rosse) around Meneghetti Wine hotel and in the location of Val Gambalera in Bale is a hard, poor soil with a high share of stone. It is intense and full of minerals - especially rich in iron that gives it the specific shade of intense and playful red color, but also its unique moisture and longevity. This red soil absorbs the sea air, the scents of Mediterranean plants that grow in its surroundings, and is particularly suitable for red grape varieties. A small hill located on the south side prevents excessive moisture and therefore herbal diseases. The location is open to dry winds from all other directions, providing long and healthy life of vines and strong aromas of grapes.

"White Country" in Kršin-Ferne near Buje, a land made of Eocene marl, is the motherland of our white wines. In this part of Istria, soil is in characteristic gray and white color, with a high share of clay and is particularly suitable for white grape varieties that give unique wines of exceptional taste and fragrant elegance.

All of our vineyards are processed in an environmentally sustainable way, with deep respect for nature. We use Simonit & Sirch method. The resin is soft, always done by hand, to preserve the plant and increase its chances to reach high age.

Straw yellow colour with golden reflections. Very complex on the nose, with pronounced ripe exotic aromas of pineapple, citrus fruits and melon, with hints of butter, toasted hazelnuts, fine wood and vanilla opening in the background. Rich and concentrated on the palate, creamy texture with ripe acids. The aftertaste is very long and harmonious. Due to the aromatic complexity and rich structure, it is an excellent match to a variety of dishes based on fish and crabs, white meat, game birds, veal, as well as half-aged cheese.

Elegant wine of deep ruby colour, fully-bodied, with strong and thick texture, mature and well-balanced. Aromas of great quality dominate, with pronounced spiciness. In the glass it is still opening up, whowing notes of vanilla, smoke, coffee, cinnamom, cloves, as well as raspberry and currant. The taste is dry, warm and perfectly soft with fine tannins. Liveliness and mineralitxy are lingering in the aftertaste. This wine pairs well with red meat, wild game and dry, hard cheese. It has excellent aging potential.

Merlot with a minimum addition of Cabernet sauvignon. Deep ruby colour with purple reflections. Intense nose, with distinctive fruity character. The aromas of plum, blueberry and other berries dominate, combined with floral notes and a gentle spicy background. Fresh and elegant on the palate, with well integrated and fine-grained tannins. Great balance of fruitiness and acidity. Pairs well with red meat, oily fish, aged cheese and Istrian dry-cured ham.

Malvazija blended with notes of Pinot blanc and Chardonnay. Wine of light yellow colour with a subtle green reflection. Very clear and precise aromas. Notes of Mediterranean herbs open up combined with elegant aromas of apricot, peach and green apple, with typical hints of acacia flower. Very soft on the palate, medium-bodied, with nicely balanced acidity and alcohol. Pairs well with white fish starters, crabs and white meat.

Light straw yellow colour with a shade of green. Clear and pleasant on the nose, with pronounced primary fruit aromas of green apple, citrus, peach and pineapple combined with hints of sage and acacia flower. Soft on the palate, very good balance of acidity and alcohol, finely integrated in the delicate structure. The finish is marked by a pleasant minerality. Excellent when paired with fish and other seafood, as well as pasta and risotto dishes with lighter sauces.

Ideal wine for hot summer days, light pink resembling the colour of cherry. Light, simple and pleasant. You can smell fresh fruits like strawberry and raspberry, as well as notes of flowers like violet. Well-balanced, medium-bodied wine, with pronounced freshness and fine aromas. Served as aperitif, excellent with cold starters, carpaccios and raw shrimps.

Crystal clear wine, straw yellow colour with golden reflections. Very distinct and fine aroma, with characteristic notes of ripe fruit, especially yellow apple, pear and peach, interwoven with hints of flowers. Full-bodied dry wine with a long-lasting taste and perfectly balanced freshness and minerality. It pairs well with pasta and risotto dishes based on fish.

Ruby colour with shades of purple. Intense fresh fruit aromas, especially wild strawberry and raspberry, with floral notes, resulting in a rich and aromatically very complex wine. The taste is dry, warm and partly soft. Freshness, tannins and minerality give this wine extraordinary balance and harmony. The finish is very long. Ideal match with oily fish, especially tuna.

Straw yellow colour with golden reflections, very small and intense bead, clear and complex aromas. At first, ripe fruits dominate – peach and pear, while in the background the aromas of white flowers, acacia, citrus, hazelnut and toast with hints of yeast and brioche open up. On the palate it is creamy and well-rounded, with elegant structure and excellently integrated bubbles. The finish is long and pleasantly fresh.Wine with a great aging potential. Recommended as aperitif wine or paired with cold starters based on fish, shellfish, crabs, salmon and white meat.

Wine Tasting

When visiting a wine hotel, one can expect that this sophisticated beverage is offered in a variety of ways. For all of you wine lovers, we recommend to take one of the expert lead tasting programs in our special tasting room, within the vinery complex. You can also buy all the Meneghetti or Kuća Glavić wines, single bottles or bundles packed in branded hand-made wooden cases. The tasting program is also open to regular guests, with special closed group tours for up to 10 people. Of course, for the most experienced wine connoisseurs, there is a selection of Meneghetti archive wines, a limited edition of bottles that can only be purchased in our tasting room.
